Post some Pink Chaddis

The Pink Chaddi Campaign kicked off on 5 February 2009 to oppose the Sri Ram Sena. The campaign is growing exponentially and that is not surprising. Most women in this country have enough curbs on their lives without a whole new franchise cashing in with their bully-boy tactics. Of course, a lot of men have joined the group as well.

The first part of the campaign is to gift Muthalik and his goons with pink underwear on Valentine’s Day. Everyone is invited to mail in their pair of the pinks!

Am sending off a large parcel first thing tomorrow to:

The Pink Chaddi Campaign,
C/O Alternate Law Forum,
122/4 Infantry Road (opposite Infantry Wedding House)
Bangalore 560001

  1. I’m one of those who seem to prefer the Pink Condom campaign that targets careless teens/young adults. I think this is a rather more sensible initiative than this pseudo-secular initiative by left-leaning Christians who don’t share the values of secular, educated, moderate Hindu Indians who are not unhappy to be Hindus. These pseudo-secularists won’t join in on protests against the K’taka government to put the Sene in jail, but will wait for fundamentalism to play into their hands so they can convert some more.

  2. Philramble – Clearly you have misunderstood both the campaign and the campaigners, which is a pity. I am not getting into an argument either about secularism or what you term pseudo-secularism. I will only say that I disagree with you totally.

  3. I don’t want to sound confrontational here, but I am convinced that the Pink Chaddi campaign has done more harm than good to the cause of people who genuinely oppose the Sri Rama Sene but are moderates, and who don’t consider excessive drinking or pubbing to be good to men or women. Thanks for making your take on this clear.
